3rd grade classes are spending class in five different stations that work on note reading and meter! In the photos below Mrs. Strickland's classStudents use notes to write their own piece of music by hand as well as on the computer, they build rhythms in different meters using rhythm building blocks, they sort notes based on how many beats there are and they answer flash cards! We are bouncing tennis balls in music class to show the difference between notes with one, two and fours beats! It practices a steady beat as well as some hand-eye coordination! In the video below Mrs. Fitzpatrick's class shows "ta," one beat notes and "ta-m," two beat notes. Trying hold on to the ball was half the battle! |
